Sony Service - How to Send Digital Imaging Products for Repair or Warranty
Gentec International is the Authorized Service Centre for Sony consumer imaging products. We can provide both warranty and non-warranty repairs on the products listed below:
- Digital Cameras (Interchangeable Lens Cameras, Compact Cameras)
- Lenses (A-Mount, E-Mount)
- Video Cameras (Consumer Camcorders, Action Cameras - No tape-based cameras)

Book A Service
To obtain service at Gentec, please use the link at the bottom of the page to Book A Service. Once completed you will receive an email with instruction that will need to be printed and included with the product.
Alternatively, you can ship the product to the address shown below. We also accept drop off during normal hours of operation. Gentec Service Department’s regular hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Please include: a letter that gives your name, return shipping address, telephone number, email address and a clear description of the problem.

Packaging Instructions
Ensure the product is well protected, with sufficient packing material to avoid damaged while in transit as shipping damages are NOT covered under warranty or by Gentec International.
Warranty Repair Coverage
To qualify for coverage under the manufacturer’s warranty, a copy of the proof of purchase from an authorized Canadian retailer is required. You should retain the original document for your records. Items Not Under Warranty
If your product is not covered by warranty, an evaluation fee of $40.00 plus tax will apply. We will waive the evaluation fee if the estimate is approved. If there is no response to the estimate after 60 days, your product may be sent to recycling. Return shipping is covered for warranty repairs. For out-of-warranty service, there will be charge of $10.00 plus tax if you choose to have the product shipped back.
